Clarendon High School mourns death of Grade 12 learner Kristen Potter
Clarendon High School for Girls is mourning the loss of Grade 12 learner Kristen Potter, who passed away following a brief illness.
The school announced Potter’s death, describing her as a valued member of the school community whose presence and contributions would be deeply missed.
“It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Kristen Potter, one of our Grade 12 learners, following a brief illness,” the school said.
Potter was remembered as a dedicated sportswoman who excelled in squash and proudly represented the school in the sport.
According to the school, she was a cherished member of the “Clarendon sisterhood” and made a lasting impact on those around her.
“Kristen was a cherished part of the Clarendon sisterhood and will be remembered for the impact she made on those around her. She was a dedicated sportswoman who excelled and proudly represented Clarendon on the squash court,” the school said.
The school community expressed its grief at the loss of one of its learners, saying Potter’s memory would continue to live on within the Clarendon family.
“As a school community, we mourn the loss of one of our own. Kristen’s place in the Clarendon family will remain forever,” the school said.
In a separate tribute, Clarendon described Potter as a young woman admired for her character, kindness and determination.
“It is with great sadness that we remember Kristen Potter, a treasured member of our Grade 12 class. Kristen was admired for her kindness, warmth and quiet strength,” the school said.
The school added that Potter’s legacy extended beyond her achievements in sport, highlighting the positive influence she had on her peers and teachers.
“Loved by all who knew her, she leaves behind a legacy of excellence, compassion and friendship.”
