The Appeal Court sitting in Abuja is to deliver judgment today in Plateau governorship election dispute.

The court is to deliver the judgment between Governor Caleb Mutfwang of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Nentawe Yilwatda.

The Election Petition Tribunal had earlier affirmed the election of Governor Mutfwang, but the APC candidate appealed the judgment.

A judgment notice sighted by our correspondent on Saturday said “the Appeal is fixed for judgment on 19th November, 2023.”

Stakeholders of both the PDP and APC are expressing confidence of victory ahead of the judgment.

A Zonal Chairman of PDP Plateau South, Simon Venmak Gomla, said he was confident of victory at the appeal court despite the previous judgment against National Assembly members of their party.

The state Publicity Secretary of the APC, Sylvanus Namang, also expressed confidence of winning at the Appeal Court, adding that for PDP to think of victory was just self-deception.
