A 37-year-old man, Murtala Mohammed, has been arraigned before a magistrates’ court in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, for stealing N3.5 million from the bank account one one Akeju Olabanji Ojo.

The prosecutor, Inspector Bankole Olasunkanmi, told the court that on October 30 and 31, at about 1206 hours at a bank in the Ajilosun area of Ado-Ekiti, the defendant and others conspired and stole N3.5m from the bank account of the victim.

The prosecutor pointed out that the offence was contrary to and punishable under Sections 421 and 302 of the Ekiti State Criminal Law.

Counsel to the defendant, O Olowolafe, urged the court to grant his client bail.

The Magistrate, B A Oluwasanmi, granted a bail of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to January 24, 2024.
