Skeffa Chimoto swims with 4 pillars
Skeffa Chimoto said Wednesday that his music hinges on four pillars of love, respect, hard work and love of God and that he will continue to do so. The musician, who goes by the moniker Jamming Machine for his energetic live performances, said this after premiering a music video for his latest track titled‘ Chiyambi’ at Sunbird Capital in Lilongwe on Tuesday.

The musician, who goes by the moniker Jamming Machine for his energetic live performances, said this after premiering a music video for his latest track titled ‘Chiyambi’ at Sunbird Capital in Lilongwe on Tuesday.
His latest song is a follow up to messages in his two previous singles ‘Kankha’ and ‘Mthunzi wa Chitedze’.
In ‘Chiyambi’, Skeffa speaks of beginnings and implores people to take that brave step and that the rest will come in place.
Retaining his reggae style, Skeffa calls upon people not to be afraid of taking a step and that if they can run, walk or crawl, then by all means they should do so.
“Much as I do music to entertain, I look at four pillars and all this is about imploring people to do something and, on top of that, love God,” he said.
Just as he calls upon people to work hard in ‘Kankha’, Skeffa does the same in ‘Chiyambi’.
The premiere of the video for ‘Chiyambi’ saw him getting overwhelming support, with people coughing huge sums of money and they included Napoleon Dzombe, who contributed over K300,000.
Fellow artists such as Great Angels Choir and Edgar Kachere of Edgar ndi Davis also contributed K100,000 each.
“At the moment, I am just releasing singles and, with more songs being dropped on the market, I thought of taking this direction of premiering videos in a special way and I would like to thank people for support,” Skeffa said.
The last time Skeffa released an album was in 2018 but he indicated that he will drop a new project later this year.
In another development, Balaka-based group Alleluya Band will debut at Sounds of Malawi Acoustic Session at Jacaranda Cultural Centre in Blantyre tonight.
