Afghan caretaker gov't releases 406 detainees from jail

KABUL, April 6 (Xinhua) — The Afghan caretaker government has released 406 detainees from the central jail of the country, the state-run Bakhtar news agency reported on Saturday.
The inmates were freed based on a decree issued by the government’s Supreme Leader Hibatullah Akhundzada on the arrival of Eid al-Fitr, Bakhtar said.
Based on the decree, many prisoners will be released from jails in different provinces, the report said. Enditem
