NEW DELHI — At least seven people were killed, and seven others injured in a devastating fire that broke out in a pharmaceutical factory in the western Indian state of Maharashtra, officials said Saturday.

Several people are reported missing in the fire.

The fire broke out on Friday following a blast inside the Blue Jet Healthcare factory in Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) Mahad in Raigad district, about 177 km south of Mumbai, the capital city of Maharashtra. (India-Fire)

BEIRUT — Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Saturday called on the international community to exert pressure on Israel to stop its “daily encroachments and violations” against Lebanon and its sovereignty in land, sea, and air, according to a statement by Lebanon’s Council of Ministers.

During his meeting with the U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Jordan, Mikati stressed “the priority of working to reach a ceasefire in Gaza to stop the ongoing Israeli aggression there, as well as working to stop the Israeli aggression against southern Lebanon and the scorched-earth policy followed by Israel, which is using internationally banned weapons to cause more human losses and destroying southern areas,” the statement noted.
